Why It's Time for Leadership Development
On this day, the patent for the trampoline was awarded to George Nissen. I’m sure the news gave his company stock price a good bounce. (See what I did there?)

1 Big Thing
Why It’s Time for Leadership Development
The article discusses the declining quality of leadership in many companies, as highlighted by a study from DDI. Only 40% of leaders reported having high-quality leaders in their company, a 17% drop from 2021, with trust being a major issue. Leaders at all levels are also struggling to find purpose and meaning in their work. The article emphasizes the importance of investing in leadership development for all employees, not just senior-level management, to drive positive employee experiences and safeguard the company's future.

By the Numbers
86%
86% of respondents said they increased productivity when coaching was combined with training vs. 22% with training alone.
Why it matters…. most organizations think training is a stand alone event. The reality is that when a coach (hopefully the manager) follows up to help the person use the skills, better results are almost guaranteed.
Yet…. Coaching can come from anyone. Consider setting up cohorts with groups of learners so they can share information.
Words of Wisdom
Learning, feedback, and reflection should coexist naturally, not according to a company-mandated schedule.
