It seems to be happening regularly, particularly as layoffs increase in the tech sector, but organizations continue to bungle this process and leave a mess. There are a ton of thoughts on this event – everything from should she have recorded it to how it was done. I want to focus on two things that I think were particularly troublesome: The reasoning of performance and the fact her manager wasn’t part of the conversation.
