Musk is Wrong About Empathy
Share

In a recent interview with Joe Rogan, Elon Musk expressed the view that empathy is "the fundamental weakness of Western civilization."  Not only does this perspective challenge the growing recognition of empathy as a vital component of effective leadership and organizational success, it is just flat out ignorant. For managers striving to enhance team performance and workplace culture, understanding the critical role of empathy is essential.

Musk thinks empathy isn’t important because he has none. Being a good narcissistic egomaniac, that means it can’t be important.

Full Disclosure: My opinion on Musk - both as a person and as a professional - is that he is horrible.
