The Answers Exist

Even If You Don't Like Them

One of the great things for consultants - like me - is that there is no shortage of problems that need to be solved. Organizations have multiple issues that need to be addressed at all times. The constant change in the world practically guarantees that there will be some problem that a business needs to address that they don’t have the time or expertise to handle.

On the flip side, there are plenty of problems that don’t need to be problems. We know how to address and handle some problems. They take work and resources, but they are solvable problems.

Those are the problems that continue to baffle me. The answers exist, but the organizations either don’t believe they work or they don’t want to do the work that is needed to solve them. Then they complain about the challenge.

The article I feature this week is that perfect example. The Inc. article discusses the results of a survey from HR that asks what their biggest priorities are for the coming year. Nothing on the list should be shocking. The top 4 are retaining top talent, recruiting new employees, upskilling/training, and employee engagement. All challenges that should be addressed.

All challenges that have the same answer - great managers. Before you accuse me of being a hammer and making everything a nail, read my reasoning.
