The issue of executive compensation has become a focal point of debate in recent years, particularly as the disparity between CEO and worker pay continues to widen. While this issue has significant societal implications, it has direct implications on managers and their goal of building great teams (which necessitates having engaged employees).

A recent report came out about the current state of CEO and executive pay. The typical compensation package for chief executives running companies in the S&P 500 jumped nearly 13% last year, easily surpassing the gains for workers at a time when inflation was putting considerable pressure on Americans’ budgets.
