I love a good word play and puns. When I first heard “quiet quitting”, I thought it was fun. But then we started adding “quiet” to anything and it became annoying. We’ve had quiet firing, quiet layoffs, and most recently Quiet Vacation.
I try not to address each of these fads, because these are usually click-bait offering no real substance. In this case, all these “quiet” things, along with layoffs, hides a concerning gap in almost every profession – we do not know how to measure productivity and success accurately for a vast majority of roles.
