Full disclosure - I think taking business advice from tech leaders and founders is a bad idea. They tend to prove this time and again because they have never learned the “because vs in spite of” concept.1
I’m seeing lots of articles recently where tech leaders/founders are talking about getting back into a start-up mode - some are referring to it as founder mode. The concept is the same: getting big has gotten to their heads and has led to lazy or poor systems and practices. A great example of this is the layoffs and memo from Jack Dorsey regarding Tidal.
Let’s look at the mistake he is making and what managers need to understand about situations like this.
